Meet our Founder
Dr. Josie Gardner
Founder, The Institute for Visionary Women
Josie is an educator, writer, and facilitator working at the intersection of embodiment, social transformation, feminine wisdom, and mythic inquiry.
She brings over fifteen years of experience in international peace and conflict work, with a focus on collective trauma healing. she has worked in areas of human rights, community development and forced migration, and has initiated extensive on-the-ground work with women and vulnerable communities globally.
She is practitioner of rites of passage facilitation, nervous system regulation, trauma-aware facilitation and embodiment, and also brings her long-standing study and practice in ancestral lineage healing and mythopoetic traditions.
Josie has always been most inspired when working with women, finding the spaces within and between women to be the most fertile, poetic, raw and connective wellsprings of creative and imaginative power.
Josie creates warm, safe and nurturing spaces where women can remember their power, clarify their purpose, and live into the futures they sense are possible.
